WHAT DO I WEAR?
DO wear some light colours. My style of photography definitely works best with colours like pastels, beige, white, light blue, navy, soft pinks, dusty pink, lilac, mint green, mustard, greys, browns, tan and jeans are all great options! Soft, muted tones looks fantastic in any location.
DO dress for the same season and same style/theme.
DO wear something that suits your surroundings and think about the look you are going for - if we are off to the beach for your session, think casual, light coloured clothing. If we are off somewhere leafy, avoid greens and red!
DO wear practical shoes - we will definitely be doing some walking! Or no shoes at all if we go to the beach.
DO think about contrast. Match a printed shirt with a solid coloured dress, or a printed dress with a solid shirt. Avoid both patterned or both solid.
DO coordinate, but don't match. Stay within a similar colour family - a light blue dress and a navy dress shirt.
DO think LAYERS and accessories! Necklaces, belts, modern hats, jackets, and scarfs in winter are all great.
DO wear something that makes you feel amazing and comfortable!
DON'T As a general rule I do suggest to avoid any logos or words (surf and skate brands etc) as they can date and cheapen the photos and be distracting to the eye.
DON'T wear too much black if possible, and really bright, bold, acidic colours like bright greens and oranges.
DON'T go too matchy matchy. Try not to wear the same colour shirt or top as your partner. If you partner is wearing a plain white shirt, try and go for a coloured top with a small pattern to compliment. Two shirts of the same colour but a different depth or shade can work!
